Friend and admirer Dennis Low has composed the following tribute to Travis Edmonson in words that everyone who appreciates this singular man and artist will relate to.
his clear tenor echoes
youthful memories of girls and
guitars whose slap-strum drove
pulsing rhythms through teenage years
with blues and ballads
connected by banter that still
makes me laugh
we were all his 'roommates'
in his life connected by
beautiful notes and generous spirit
to finally dining with an older gent
who sang 'tomorrow is a long time'
with strangers wanting to share a meal
with the one who also shared the 'Lord's Prayer'
kissing the hand that generated
singing 'how long blues' with the man
at his 75th
we all hope to someday hear
Bud & Travis in person
